Running Away

She packed up her bags and slung it over her shoulder.
She knew what she was doing. She had waited for this moment all her life.
She opened her bedroom window and jumped out onto the tree branch. It started cracking and she jumped onto the front lawn. The tree branch broke and hit the ground with a terrifying thud. A light was switched on inside the house. She ran as fast as her legs would carry her down the street. Red faced and tears streaming down, but she was smiling, happy.
Her whole life she had been running. Running from bullies in primary school, running from teachers even on the first day of high school. Recently running from her father who has since turned to drugs. 
She had been running, but can you really run away from life?
